Brief History.

We are a group of railway modellers working to the N-gauge (9mm track) in a scale of 1:148(British) or 1:160, approximately 2mm to the foot. Our club currently consists of around 16 members who meet on the third Wednesday of each month in Redhill; our logo is a simplified version of the main lines passing through the junction there.

The main object of the club is to provide an opportunity for enthusiasts of N-gauge model railways to meet and exchange experiences, information and ideas for the general benefit of members - and of course a chance to play trains!

The club's first signs of life began in May 1997 and have progressed steadily into 1998 on a firm basis. Members young and old, from far and near, steam, electric and diesel enthusiasts alike, are each currently in the process of building individual modular layouts which can be interconnected at our meetings to make a large "club" layout but enable each member to take their own layout home.

It is hoped that the group will continue to flourish. Benefits so far have included discounts from "local" model shops, expert advice from within the group, a small "swap meet" of our own, members traveling together to shows and exhibitions, as well as visits to other clubs and, of course, plenty of tea, coffee and scrumptious cakes!

New members are always welcome and if you would like further information then send us an e-mail with your information.

On club nights we normally meet and set up our modules and play trains for a while, talk to each other, ask each other questions and then sit down for a brief talk about the club or sometimes a talk from a visitor. We have also visited other clubs to see what they do and to play on their model railways! Some nights we even have demonstrations like soldering, electronics, scenery etc.

In 1999 we held our first open day to show people what our group does and to get more people interested in the same hobby as us, the day was very popular. We have now held our tenth open day, with each proving more popular than before.

If you would like to see more of our modules then come along or have a look at the photos of some of our club nights.
